When and where is Royal Ascot held?
The Royal Ascot meeting is held at Ascot Racecourse in London. Located only a few miles from the Royal residence in Windsor Castle, the meeting is always attended daily by the Queen or another member of the Royal Family. The Royal Ascot meeting kicks off on Tuesday with an absolute stormer of a race. The Queen Anne is a mile race for horses aged 4yo or older and Accidental Agent sprang a big surprise at 33/1 in 2025. Some bookmakers are already offering betting on the Queen Anne Stakes and Laurens is sure to be near the head of the market. It is restricted to 3yos only and was only founded in 2015 when Muhaarar won for Charles Hills and Dane O’Neill. Ten Sovereigns heads the market at a best price of 5/1 with BetVictor. He is a serious sprinter, unbeaten after three starts. If he has trained on, he is the one they all have to beat.
One horse that the bookies have overlooked time and again is Signora Cabello. Trained by John Quinn, this dashing daughter of Camacho scored at 25/1 in the Queen Mary here last year. She pushed Pollyanna all the way in the Prix Morny at Deauville and with a 3lb allowance we think she could follow in Quiet Reflection’s hoof steps and become the second filly to win the Commonwealth Cup.

Saturday is the closing day of the Royal Ascot meeting and the final Group 1 of the week is the 6f Diamond Jubilee Stakes. This thrilling sprint is restricted to horses aged 4yo or older and it was granted Group 1 status in 2002. Some superb sprinters have scored in this race down through the years, including the likes of Black Caviar, Society Rock and Choisir.
Aidan O’Brien is best known for his exploits with middle distance horses, but he won the 2025 Diamond Jubilee Stakes with Merchant Navy. Vincent O’Brien (5 wins) and Lester Piggott (10 wins) hold the records for most wins by a trainer and jockey. At the time of writing, no ante-post Diamond Jubilee odds were available.
