If you're looking for a bookmaker with a great selection of sports and events, and regular bonuses, then Mr. Play just might be the betting site for you.
Our Mr. Play review tells you everything you need to know about this bookmaker.
Whether you want an in-depth look at their betting features, or want to know more about the Mr. Play free bet welcome bonus, we can tell you if Mr. Play is the right fit for your betting style.
Mr. Play’s UK welcome bonus is simple and easy to understand. You bet £10, and get a £10 free bet in return.
Of course, there are some terms and conditions to keep in mind, which we’ll discuss below. But Mr.Play’s sign-up offer is simple in all the right ways and adds real value to new customers’ first week or two using the betting site.
Punters in India have a different sort of welcome bonus at Mr. Play altogether. Punters still get a free bet, however this offer is scalable and may be better suited to more experienced punters or high rollers.
The terms and conditions aren’t quite as generous and easy as the UK welcome bonus, but the welcome bonus for punters in India is customizable. Punters in India can get anywhere from ₹1,000 to ₹10,000 deposit match, making it a lot more scalable for casual punters all the way up to high rollers.
Country | Bonus |
🇬🇧 UK Welcome Bonus | Bet and Get a £10 Free Bet |
18+, Welcome Bonus: New Players only, 1st Deposit, Min Deposit: £10, max £10 free bet valid for 14 days, bets must be placed at odds of 1/1 or greater and be settled within 14 days of placement. System bets no eligible. Full T&Cs apply. | |
🇮🇳 India Welcome Bonus | 100% up to ₹10,000 |
18+, Welcome Bonus: Only for new players, first deposit, minimum deposit: ₹1,000, maximum ₹10,000 free bet, valid for 14 days. Bets must be made at odds of 2.00 or higher and settled within 14 days of making them. In case of multi or system bets, the selection has to be played at minimum odds of 1.40. Full T&Cs apply. |
Punters in both the UK and India need to be careful when making their first deposit, as using certain e-wallets make you ineligible for a welcome bonus. We definitely recommend sticking to using your debit card for that very first betting deposit.
As far as terms and conditions go, it’s clear that punters in the UK have an easier time of things. It’s incredibly easy to redeem your £10 bet token from Mr. Play. And there aren’t tons of hoops to jump through.
While punters in the UK making use of Mr. Play’s sign up offer need to make sure that they meet certain criteria in terms of odds and bet types, these are actually unlikely to cause most punters very much grief. Plus, the best part is that there’s no wagering requirement for Mr. Play’s UK welcome bonus.
Bettors in India might need to work a little harder to redeem their bonus, as there is a wagering requirement to be met. This is on the higher side of average, though still within reason at 9x the bonus amount.
❗️ Important Note: Mr.Play uses the Aspire Global online casino and sports betting platform. This means that punters who have signed up to other bookies running on the same platform are ineligible for a welcome bonus at any other betting site or online casino on the same platform! |
Mr. Play’s sign up offer definitely impressed us, but it takes more than just an initial free bet to keep punters coming back. From what we could see during our review testing, Mr. Play doesn’t have an abundance of promotions and offers like some other bookies, but they do have just enough to whet our appetites.
Of course, many of these promotions are based on specific events and tournaments, so we can’t get too specific in this Mr. Play review. However, from what we’ve seen so far, it’s pretty reasonable to expect at least 2 or 3 sports promotions on at any given time.
Mr. Play runs on the Aspire Global platform. This means that it benefits from all the same exceptional security and safety features as others on the platform like Karamba, BetRegal, and many more.
Firstly, their site is 128-bit SSL secured. This means it’s exceptionally difficult for anyone parties to gain access to their system, or to intercept any data.
In terms of remote gambling licences, Aspire Global is a Whitelabel company that succeeds based on the fact that they follow the rules and keep a spotless record. Betting sites like Mr. Play need to do the same to ensure they are kept on those spotless licences.
As a result, Mr. Play possess licenses in a few different jurisdictions, such as Sweden and Ireland. But the most important of these licenses are the ones awarded by the UK Gambling Commission (Ref: 39483) and the Malta Gaming Authority (License: MGA/CRP/148/2007).
As a result of all this, we can say without a shadow of a doubt that Mr. Play is a safe and trustworthy betting site. Interested punters should have nothing to worry about when it comes to responsible gambling tools, personal data security, or even their banking details.
Getting money into and out of Mr.Play is easy. Punters can choose from a top-notch selection of payment methods, including everyone’s favourite e-wallet: PayPal!
During our review testing we found that deposits at Mr. Play are instant. Funding our account was quick and painless, and we didn’t need to sign up to any services that we didn’t already use.
Like we mentioned above, PayPal deposits and withdrawals are supported, as well as other popular e-wallets like Skrill, Neteller, and even AstroPay. Of course, debit cards are accepted as well, though withdrawals do take a little longer.
Mr.Play have a general withdrawal limit of £7,000 a month, which should do most punters just fine. We spoke to their customer service agents on live chat, and found out that in the case of large wins, they’re usually happy to make exceptions for punters.
The wide array of payment methods that Mr.Play support makes withdrawals just as easily accessible as deposits. As you can see below, we did some digging and found out more about how long these withdrawals take:
Payment Method | Withdrawal Time |
![]() ![]() Debit Cards |
4-6 Business Days |

3 Business Days |
![]() Skrill |

*Not including 1 additional Business Day for internal processing of withdrawal applications |
As you can see above, Mr. Play aren’t exactly the fastest bookie around when it comes to withdrawals. Luckily, though, withdrawals aren’t slow enough to be a huge issue. Plus, the selection of withdrawal methods here in the UK give punters a decent selection of top-notch payment providers.
As we said when discussing how secure Mr. Play is, this bookie runs on the Aspire Global platform. This means that Mr. Play uses SBTech for sports betting.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but SBTech bookies tend to be less feature-packed than other bookies, and the odds are not always very competitive.
We were very pleased, however, to see that Mr. Play features a wide selection of sports and events to bet on. We put this to the test by comparing their selection across a number of other bookies, and Mr. Play gave us just as varied a selection as its competitors.
Mr. Play does have full and partial Cash Out, however, these features could definitely use some work.
We were disappointed to see that, like all other SBTech bookmakers, you can only know if a bet can be cashed out after wagering. For some punters, this is unimportant, but for others this may force them to completely rethink their betting strategy.
In order to know if your bets can be cashed out, you need to open your list of active bets, and only then will you be able to see if cash Out is available, and whether partial, full, or both types of Cash Out are possible.
Here’s a list of the types of bets that can not be Cashed Out at Mr. Play:
Auto Cash Out is not available at Mr. Play. The main issue with how Cash Out works with SBTech bookies like Mr. Play is that Cash Out isn’t actually handled by Mr. Play themselves, or even Aspire Global. When requesting to Cash Out a bet, it’s actually SBTech who decide on whether the bet can be cashed out and what the value of the bet’s Cash Out is at that moment. This makes Mr. Play’s Cash Out feature somewhat slow and unreliable.
We couldn’t find any mention of a bet builder or a way to request bets on Mr. Play’s site, so we headed to their live chat to find out more. Some bookies out there allow customers to request bets through their live chat function, and we figured that this is how it would be at Mr. Play.
Unfortunately, Mr. Play’s live chat agent eventually told us that it wasn’t possible to do that. This means that Mr. Play has no bet builder or bet request functionality at the time of writing. Of course, if this changes in the future, we’ll update this section to reflect that.
Featuring sports and events is great, but dedicated punters thrive on variety, especially when it comes to betting markets. As part of our Mr. Play review, we did some digging to find out what kind of betting market selection punters could expect if they signed up for Mr. Play themselves.
Sport | Live / Pre-Match | Tournament | # of Bet Types |
Football | Pre-Match | English Premier League | 92 |
Football | In-Play | Copa Italia | 56 |
Cricket | Pre-Match | Indian Premier League | 19 |
Cricket | In-Play | Indian Premier League | 6 |
As is normal in the world of online betting sites, football matches featured the most betting markets, though there was a decent number of pre-match betting markets for an IPL cricket match too.
Fans of football betting, in particular, will be well served at Mr. Play thanks to their Player Props feature.
Mr. Play offers an expanded set of betting markets for certain football leagues, all of them based on allowing punters to bet on particular players in the match.
For example, punters can bet on things like the total number of shots Jorghino is going to make or bet on Aubemeyand to score a header.
Here’s a list of the Player Props betting markets available:
Like we said, though, these are only available on certain leagues. This means that you won’t be able to use these player-based betting markets on semi-pro leagues.
At the time of writing, Player Prop markets can be found on:
As you can see, the current selection isn’t too wide, though covers the very best of European football. It bears noting though, that Player Prop markets aren’t available for every single match, except or the English Premier League.
With all those betting markets available, as well as the great stuff we mentioned above about the Mr. Play welcome betting bonus, this bookie has managed to score quite a few points with us so far. However, we needed to see what kind of value punters could expect when it came to odds.

We put Mr. Play up against Unibet for this odds comparison. Unibet are known for having good value odds, though not necessarily the absolute best. Unfortunately, Mr. Play’s odds were significantly lower in value when we compared the two bookies’ odds on a Premier League match.
If you’re anything like us, then you likely do most of your betting on a smartphone or tablet. Luckily for punters, all Mr.Play’s features are available on mobile!
Punters should also be aware, though, that the mobile experience on Android devices, like Samsung and OnePlus phones, is pretty different to the iPhone and iPad Mr.Play experience.
If you happen to have an Android phone, then you’re in luck. Mr.Play have an Android app that can be downloaded right off the Google Play Store! You don’t need to mess around with manually installing anything.
This is a great option for punters who love the simplicity of their main betting app just being a tap away on your homescreen, as well as being able to get push notifications when matches are starting and bets are settled.
Of course, if you don’t want to install the app, or are reading this in a country where the Mr.Play Android app isn’t available, Mr.Play’s site works perfectly well on mobiles and tablets.
Those who use iPhones and iPads, on the other hand, are out of luck. There is no Mr.Play app for iPhone, meaning your only choice is to use the mobile site.
Considering the mobile site is identical to the Android app, though, this isn’t that big of an issue. Punters looking for convenience can always just save a bookmark on their iPhone homescreen (click the link to find out how).
As we’ve mentioned above, Mr. Play’s betting suite, including their live betting suite, is powered by SBTech. As we’ve seen with other SBTech bookies, the live betting suite isn’t exactly suited to seasoned in-play bettors.
The odds don’t refresh quite as quickly as some of their competitors, there’s a smaller selection of in-play betting markets than some would like, and very little information is given to help the punters keep up with the match.
Their match tracker is pretty bare, and doesn’t update as often as you need it to, so you need to rely on a second screen like a television to watch the match on while you place your bets.
As anyone familiar with SBTech bookies knows, SBTech do not feature a live streaming service as part of their betting suite that they provide to bookmakers. We definitely recommend that more hardcore in-play punters look elsewhere for live streaming bookies if that’s a feature they require.
At first glance, the VIP Club detailed on Mr. Play looks fantastic. A tiered, points-based system with 7 different levels, and clear indications for what’s available at each level. The benefits seem oddly casino-focused, but nothing on the VIP Club page indicates it’s only for casino players.
So, it must be available to punters too, right?
We decided to check with Mr. Play’s customer care department over live chat, just to be sure. Unfortunately, sports bettors aren’t eligible for the VIP Club, only casino players are.
Mr. Play give punters a variety of ways to contact them, and each of them are reasonably accessible. What’s even better is that Mr. Play even have a decent FAQ section!
The team behind Mr. Play clearly understand the value of a good “Help” section, and they feature tons of questions, split into topics, with detailed answers that most punters will find value. It’s a genuinely top-notch FAQ section. The only thing we’d change about it would be adding an FAQ search bar, but it’s still genuinely easy to find what you’re looking for.
If you need to communicate directly with a customer service representatives, you can either send an email through a fillable form or one of their two email addresses, or use the live chat feature. As will be explained below, we definitely recommend using email when contacting Mr. Play.
Mr. Play’s live chat service isn’t available 24/7, though it is available for 16 hours each day, which is definitely reasonable. As long as it’s between 07:00-23:00 (UK time), then there’ll be a live chat operator ready to help you.
The waiting time from initiating the live chat to actually getting through to an operator is reasonable. During our Mr. Play review testing, we found it took anywhere between 90 seconds and 2 minutes to get through, which is quicker than some other bookies out there, even if being on the slower side of average.
Our real issue with Mr. Play’s live chat feature was the operators. The three different live chat operators we interacted with each came short of providing what we consider to be the “normal” betting site customer care experience.
Of the three live chat operators we spoke to, none seemed familiar with Mr. Play and what features they did and didn’t have, and provided us with information that was either conflicting, factually incorrect, or unrelated to our question.
The operators also went silent for extended periods of time to check with other people in order to answer our queries. Now, our queries weren’t legitimate issues we were experiencing with the site, but simply just enquiries about how Mr. Play worked and what was and wasn’t available.
For example, one operator disappeared for 20 minutes in order to find out whether the withdrawal times listed on their site includes internal processing time. They then had to disappear once more to check again as she had returned with information that had nothing to do with withdrawals.
We had no issues when emailing Mr. Play, though. Each of our emails were responded to within 24 hours, and included exactly the information we asked for. We definitely recommend emailing this bookie over attempting to use their live chat.
Mr. Play are clearly aiming for punters in the UK, as well as those in India. For starters, punters in both countries can place bets in their national currencies without needing to pay exchange fees.
The hours their customer service representatives are available, as well as their wide array of supported payment methods show that punters in the UK, in particular, are extremely valuable to them.
The first half of this Mr. Play review is overwhelmingly positive, so they definitely excel in some areas. However, there are still some areas that need improvement.
So, who do we think Mr. Play is for?
We think Mr. Play is a great choice for casual punters, especially footie fans. Mr. Play have a lot to offer to punters who get most of their betting done when the big football leagues are on.
More dedicated punters, however, may not be fans of the value of their odds, and the lack of certain features in SBTech’s betting suite.
