Ruby Bet Welcome Offer – Is it Worthwhile?
Ruby Bet’s sign-up bonus is attractive and simple at first glance. Deposit a minimum of £10, and get a £10 free bet.
The odds restriction is reasonable at a minimum of 1/2, and the only restricted payment method is Skrill. However, things start to get complicated if your free bet ends up actually winning.
Bonus Name | Bonus | Bonus Code |
New Customer Offer | Deposit min. £10 and Get £10 Free Bet | ❌ |
As you can see in the terms and conditions below, there are several things to keep in mind when trying to redeem Ruby Bet’s welcome offer. For starters, both your free bet AND your free bet winnings expire in 7 days of your free bet being issued. This means that if you want to redeem any possible winnings, you need to use your free bet as soon as possible, and on a bet that will be settled relatively quickly.
If your free bet wins, you need to wager those free bet winnings 10x over in order to redeem them. This needs to be done in the same 7-day window of time that begins when the free bet is issued to your account.
This is where the odds restriction on your free bet of a minimum 1/2 (1.50) works in your benefit. A £10 free bet at odds 1/2 would yield a £5 return (remember, when using free bets, your stake isn’t returned to you). For many punters out there, wagering £50 to redeem their winnings might seem a little steep, but is still achievable.

If compared with other free bet offers, the WR are higher than the market average.
Ruby Bet’s Promotions for Existing Customers
Ruby Bet has more than just a new customer offer available. Once the welcome bonus has been redeemed, there are plenty promotions for punters to take advantage of.
As is often the case with these kinds of offers, many of Ruby Bet’s promotions are event-specific and sport-specific. This means they’re likely to change regularly, which is a great way for punters to get added value over time.
Many of these promotions at Ruby Bet provide free bets, though there are also cash giveaways, odds boosts, and more. Punters should definitely be aware of the fact that many promotions at Ruby Bet require promo codes to activate.
The one thing we don’t like about Ruby Bet’s promotions page is that it’s a little misleading. It first looks like there are over 14 different offers on at any time, however this isn’t the case. While there are rows of different sports to click on in the promotions section, only a fraction of them actually have active promotions running on them.
There are still plenty of promotions available, especially for a new betting site like ruby Bet. You’ll notice that sports which have active promotions display the significant terms at the bottom of the large, clickable box. The remaining boxes just take you to a generic description of the sport and a “deposit now” button.
How Safe is Ruby Bet?
Ruby Bet is definitely a secure betting site. At the most basic level, the site itself is protected by 128-bit SSL encryption, which means that it’s extremely difficult for anyone to intercept any of their data.
Where they really shine is in their footer, where they proudly display two of the most reputable remote gambling licences a betting site can get. Ruby Bet is licensed by both the UK Gambling Commission (Licence: 58267) and the Malta Gaming Authority.
As part of the Progress Play group of companies, Ruby Bet seems to be benefitting from the full might of their security features. Punters have nothing to worry about when using Ruby Bet.
Responsible Gambling Tools
One of the aspects of maintaining Ruby Bet’s UKGC licence is that they need to provide tools and resources to any of their punters who may need help changing their gambling habits. Ruby Bet has a great selection of responsible gambling tools and resources for their punters.
Here’s a full list of the tools available on their site:
- Deposit limits (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Wager limits (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Loss limits (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Reality check (the site will stop you from playing games until you acknowledge you want to continue)
- Time-out (up to 42 days)
- Self-exclusion (6-12 months, extendable)
All this is in addition to their many different links to organisations that can help people with gambling habits that have become problematic. Ruby Bet provides their punters with easy access to organisations like the official GamCare site and the UK Counselling Directory for further assistance and resources.
Ruby Bet Banking – PayPal Accepted!
Ruby Bet have an excellent selection of payment methods. One of the first things we look for whenever we review a UK betting site is PayPal support, and Ruby Bet definitely come through again.
Whether you want to stick to more traditional methods like debit cards and bank transfers, or more modern solutions like e-wallets, Ruby Bet has you covered. They even have plenty of region-exclusive payment methods like PayPal for the UK. What’s even better is that punters using PayPal are eligible for bonuses at Ruby Bet!
However, there’s one major with Ruby Bet’s banking, which we’ll look at below.
Ruby Bet Withdrawal Times & Limits
Payment Method | Withdrawal Minimum | Withdrawal Time* |
Debit Cards | £2.50 | 3 – 7 business days |
PayPal | £2.50 | 3 – 7 business days |
Skrill | £2.50 | 1 business day |
Bank Transfer | £50 | 4 – 10 business days |
Trustly | £2.50 | 3 business days |
EcoPayz | £2.50 | 3 business days |
NETeller | £2.50 | 1 business day |
*not including 3 business days pending and 1 business day processing |
As you can see above, withdrawals at Ruby Bet are extremely slow. Each withdrawal request is subject to 4 business days of pending and processing before the withdrawal actually goes through. Of course, you then also need to wait for the actual transfer to go through.
This means that a withdrawal via bank transfer can take between two and three weeks, which is just ridiculous by today’s standards. Ruby Bet have put the work in when it comes to making a diverse selection of payment methods available, but the long withdrawal times might scare some punters off.

Sports Betting at Ruby Bet
It’s clear from the get-go that Ruby Bet has a massive selection of tournaments and matches for punters to bet on. Whether you’re looking for outright bets on the biggest football matches, or you’re looking for obscure cricket betting markets, Ruby Bet has it all.
When it comes to the selection of betting markets, Ruby Bet certainly impresses. For example, we saw over 150 betting markets available on a single Champions League match. If you can imagine the bet, it’s likely Ruby Bet will allow you to put a wager down on it.
Does Ruby Bet have a Cash Out Feature?
This is an understandable question, as information about their Cash Out feature isn’t easy to find. Ruby Bet does have a Cash Out feature, though it isn’t the most reliable one we’ve ever seen.
For starters, unless you go the bottom of their “Betting Rules” page, you’re unlikely to be aware that the feature is available at all. They don’t list the Cash Out feature on their promotions page, like many other bookies, nor does Ruby Bet mention it on their sports betting blog. Cash Out isn’t available on every sport or every bet, and supported bets are marked with a $ symbol above the market.
You’re most likely to be able to use the Cash Out feature on Football, Basketball, and Tennis, where we found that around 1/3 of the available bets supported Cash Out. When looking at more niche sports, like most eSports, golf, or darts, Cash Out was usually available on around 20% of total bets or fewer.
Punters can Cash Out their bets fully or partially when using this feature, and is available on both mobile and desktop.
Can Punters Request Bets?
While Ruby Bet have an excellent selection of betting markets available, no bookie can guarantee every bet you want, all the time. This is almost a secret, as we only became aware of this by talking to their customer service representatives, but punters can request their own bets.
Ruby Bet’s system isn’t really set up for this, though, so the only way to request bets is through customer support during office hours. The customer service agent then forwards it to their sports betting department, and then the bet may or may not be added to the list of available bets.
This is much more difficult than with other bookies, like Betfair for example. And if you happen to need to request a bet outside of office hours, then you’re out of luck as these bets need to be set up manually, if at all.
Ruby Bet Odds Comparison
When it comes to picking a sportsbook, many consider the value of a bookie’s odds as the most important deciding factor. Ruby Bet clearly didn’t miss the memo here.
We put Ruby Bet up against two other bookies and looked at the pre-match odds for an FA Cup match. The results were actually quite surprising:
As you can see in the table above, Ruby Bet offers fantastic value on their odds. Considering Betiton only launched very shortly before Ruby Bet, it’s fantastic to see Ruby Bet offer such great value odds.
User Interface
Ruby Bet’s user interface is a dream to use. For starters, the site has clearly taken inspiration from the “dark mode” that many apps and operating systems offer, which makes it look great on a wide variety of screen sizes.
Beyond just looking good, though, the amount of filters available make it exceptionally easy to find the exact match and betting market you want. On a laptop or desktop, the site uses tons of screen real estate without feeling cramped or chaotic. On mobile, everything is pared down a notch, but the UI is so sleek, it doesn’t feel any more difficult to get what you need.

Mobile Betting – No Apps!
Like pretty much any other website out there nowadays, Ruby Bet works perfectly fine on mobile devices. As we mentioned above, the user interface was designed to take advantage of different screen sizes extremely well, and we didn’t find any site features or functionality was lacking when we used Ruby Bet on the go.
However, there’s one thing about the Ruby Bet mobile experience that isn’t so great. Ruby Bet doesn’t yet have any Android or iOS apps. This means that you need to access Ruby Bet from your mobile device’s browser.
Like we said above, all the features and functionality of the desktop site carry over to the mobile site, and the site’s user interface is just as sleek and snappy on a phone as it is on a laptop.
The Live Betting Suite
Ruby Bet have a fantastic live betting suite. When heading to the sports betting section of Ruby Bet, the live betting suite is actually what punters see first. The great value odds and sleek UI we described in our section on sports betting above are front and center here.
What impressed us the most about the live betting experience at Ruby Bet was the sheer amount of betting markets available during in-play betting. Even when betting on a match in a small, Vietnamese football league, there were dozens of betting markets available in the live betting suite. While some other betting sites, like EnergyBet, offer only the bare minimum in terms of live betting, the team behind Ruby Bet do a great job of providing punters with options.
Does Ruby Bet Feature Live Streaming?
During our testing, we weren’t able to catch any live streams at all, though there does seem to be a filter to help punters find live matches with streams. To find out more, we tried contacting a customer care representative on live chat. We were told that live streaming is available on some matches.
Unfortunately, their customer service representative wasn’t able to give us any indication as to which sports or leagues we could expect to see live streams on. Unfortunately, we didn’t see any live streams available over several days of testing. The advice we were given was to check the site regularly in hopes of finding a live stream. When compared to betting sites like bet365 and Unibet, who are renowned for their amazing coverage of live streams, Ruby Bet have a lot of work to do here.
To help punters keep up with what’s going on in the match when a live stream isn’t available, Ruby Bet features a handy match tracker. This makes it easy to keep up with the broad strokes of the match and adjust your bets accordingly.
The Ruby Bet VIP Club
Punters will be happy to see that Ruby Bet features a points-based, multi-tiered VIP club that includes a number of different features and benefits. Their page on their VIP Club indicated that the only way to accumulate VIP Points is wagering on casino games.
However, we contacted their customer service department over live chat and confirmed that wagering on sports bets also accumulates VIP points, meaning punters can join in on the fun too!
How Many VIP Club Levels are there?
As we said above, the Ruby Bet VIP Club is split into several different levels. Your tier depends on how many VIP points you accumulate, and each tier has different benefits. Punters accumulate VIP points by wagering on sports bets, and every £16 wagered becomes a VIP point.
There are 5 different levels in the Ruby Bet VIP Club. Everyone starts at the Bronze level, and can work their way all the way up to Diamond by accumulating more points.
VIP Club Level | Points Required |
Bronze | 0 |
Silver | 500+ |
Gold | 1,000+ |
Platinum | 5,000+ |
Diamond | 10,000+ |
What are the Benefits of the Ruby Bet VIP Club?
The differences between the Bronze and Silver VIP levels are pretty minimal, and hinge on one particular feature: converting VIP points to cash. Each level on the tier has a maximum number of points that can be converted each day, and it rises with each tier.
The other benefits of the Ruby Bet VIP Club are as follows*:
- Gold: VIP customer support
- Platinum: Birthday presents; VIP support hotline
- Diamond: Personal account manager, Personalised gifts, Anniversary bonus
*Each level in the VIP Club also receives all the benefits of the tiers below it
Customer Service – Still a Work in Progress
We wish that Ruby Bet’s customer service was better, if we’re being completely honest. During our testing we contacted Ruby Bet customer support a number of times, and our experiences left us a little underwhelmed.
Unfortunately, Ruby Bet’s FAQ doesn’t mention sports betting and is completely focused on the online casino arm of their business. Considering the word “Bet” is part of the brand’s name, we found this to be more than a little disappointing.
When it comes to actually contacting the customer service department, punters have the option to choose between using live chat, or sending an email. During our testing of the live chat feature we found that we were consistently able to be connected to a customer service representative in under 30 seconds, which was a pleasant surprise.
However, we found it difficult to get answers to some basic questions over live chat. For instance, we were never able to get any indication as to which sports or leagues are available for live streaming. We were told to simply check the site regularly as the customer service agent didn’t have access to that information.

An International Up-And-Comer
They may be a new kid on the block, but Ruby Bet are already one of our top picks for UK betting sites. Not only do they accept the UK’s most popular payment method, PayPal, but they also time their live chat availability around when they think punters in the UK will need them most.
Are they as good as some the massive betting sites like bet365 or 888Sport? Well, that will depend on what you’re looking for. If you want a PayPal bookie that features tons of promotions and offers for existing customers, then Ruby Bet is the UK betting site for you. If you’re looking for an amazing welcome bonus and live-streamed matches, then maybe the better-established UK bookies are better suited to you.
Ruby Bet is a Gem
If you’re looking for a new betting site that’s already turning heads, then we definitely recommend signing up to Ruby Bet. They excel in some of the most essential areas. They have great value odds that compete with some of the biggest bookies out there, as well as a phenomenal selection of betting markets. Beyond that, Ruby Bet features a wide selection of promotions for existing users that continue adding value long after your welcome bonus, and a top-notch user interface that makes it easy to find the bets you’re looking for in no time.
Yes, there are some areas where Ruby Bet could be better, but the same could be said about any betting site out there. We would definitely welcome improvements with their customer care, who we found to be less than helpful; as well as a better welcome bonus. As far as new betting sites go, though, Ruby Bet are off to an amazing start.
- Excellent odds
- Fantastic selection of sports, tournaments, and events
- Good selection of promotions for existing customers
- Great live betting suite
- Customer service representatives weren’t able to answer some basic questions
- No indication of which matches will and will not be live streamed
- Long withdrawal times
