The Genting brand is one of the most well-known names in gambling in the UK. They have an expansive chain of brick-and-mortar casinos and betting houses across the country, as well as their online sportsbook and casino. GentingBet has recently been transformed into a one-stop-shop and combined their sites into one. With the reboot now complete, let's dive into this GentingBet review and see if they're still a mighty sportsbook to be reckoned with.
A lot of betting sites out there will try to draw new customers in with welcome offers that feature huge numbers but are really difficult to redeem. Genting Bet, however, give their users a less flashy, but super-useful sign-up offer. If your first bet loses, you'll get a £25 free bet in return!

£25 Free Bet If Your First Settled Bet Doesn't Win |
New Customers only. First settled bet £/€10 (£10 E/W+) - £/€25 (£/€25 E/W+) at odds 2.0+ qualifies. If first settled bet loses, free bet credited within 24 hours of bet settlement, use within 7 days, Stake not returned. See Full T&Cs. |
This is a great way to jump in and maybe even place the kind of bet that feels a bit too risky for your usual tastes, as with GentingBet's welcome bonus, that first bet is risk-free up to £25!
Yes! We took to the customer care live chat to double-check this, and the customer service representative confirmed it. Any punters out there who also want to play some casino games are in luck. All you need to do is follow the instructions above to redeem the sportsbook welcome bonus and get your free bet, and then head to the casino section and deposit funds there to start to claim bonus funds.
PRO TIP! If you'd like to redeem both bonuses, make sure to complete the sports bonus first, as it's much easier to redeem and doesn't have any wagering requirement multipliers! |
Of course, the Genting Casino Bonus is subject to its own terms and conditions, so be sure to read those carefully on the Genting Casino site before depositing any funds. The sign up offer on the casino side of things is a deposit bonus, so it requires you to deposit real money.
A lot of the betting sites we look at go hard on the welcome offer to attract new players, but when it comes to promotions for existing customers, they drop the ball. Now GentingBet, though! This is one of the best selections of promotions for existing customers we've seen in a while!
When you sign up to Genting Bet, they appreciate it, and they want you to stick around. Of course, a lot of these promotions change depending on what sporting events are happening at the time, but at the time of writing there are three different promotions available for existing users.
This is one of GentingBet's long-lasting promotional offers for existing customers. Football fans can earn a £5 free bet every Saturday when placing acca bets on big league matches. Your free bet will need to be used on a Sunday football match, but that's hardly a dealbreaker for most punters out there.
The qualifying leagues of GentingBet's 3 PM Club are: English Premier League, EFL Championship, EFL League One, EFL League Two, FA Cup, Scottish Premiership, Scottish Championship, Scottish League One, Scottish League Two and Scottish Cup.
GentingBet have different types of offers and promos for existing customers too. Things like odds matching for horse racing, earning free spins from sports bets, and many more. We recommend checking the Promotions page regularly, as the promos change depending on season and events going at the time. You're guaranteed to find something that'll take your GentingBet experience to the next level.
GentingBet definitely gets our seal of approval when it comes to player safety and responsible gambling. When it comes to choosing which bookmaker to call home, safety & security should be your top concern. You need to give your bookie a lot of personal information for KYC procedures, you give them financial information when you deposit and withdraw, so you need to make sure that all of this data ends up in safe hands.
At site level, Genting Bet is protected by 256-bit SSL encryption, which is incredibly difficult to intercept or hack. Beyond that, they hold two of the strictest gaming licences in the world, and they work hand-in-hand with some of the biggest names in responsible gambling, like GamCare, GamSTOP, and GambleAware.
Genting are actually the first-ever recipient of GamCare's Safer Gambling Standard. This is GamCare's certification for online gambling operators, like bookmakers, who are externally audited by GamCare and prove a serious commitment to player safety and responsible gambling.
GamCare awarded Genting with the highest level of the Safer Gambling Standard, which is an excellent sign to prospective players that Genting takes your privacy, safety, and security seriously.
When it comes to gambling licences, there are two in particular that really stand out as measures for player safety and quality, and Genting Bet have both of them. As they're available in the UK, and only the UK, they, of course, have a UK Gambling Commission licence. In addition to that, they have a licence issued by the Malta Gaming Authority.
What this means for you is that Genting Bet has gone through several external checks to ensure that they're fair, that they protect your personal data, and they protect your money.
As of 14th April 2020, players from the UK are no longer allowed to make credit card transactions at online betting sites |
So far, everything we've looked at has been great, but no bookmaker is perfect. When it comes to online banking options at GentingBet, the word "options" is a bit of a stretch. Genting Bet only accept debit cards. There's no GentingBet PayPal option, no other common e-wallets like Neteller or Skrill, and no mobile payment options like Boku.
Let's be realistic, though, pretty much every punter out there has debit card. The vast majority of bettors out there will have no issues when it comes to depositing or withdrawing funds from GentingBet. Sure, it would be great to have more options, but they at least support the most ubiquitous online payment method out there. Also, they have another, offline payment method, called GentingPay, which is ENTIRELY unique. More on that below.
Also, during our testing, we spoke to a customer care representative about their payment methods and discovered something pretty cool: there is NO upper limit for withdrawal amounts. Where a big win might mean having to split withdrawals over a few different days, or even weeks, at other bookmakers, with GentingBet it can just be a single, straightforward transaction.

Like most punters in the UK already know, Genting have a bunch of physical, brick-and-mortar casinos and betting lounges all across the UK. Genting Bet users can use the physical cash desks at Genting Casino locations to deposit and withdraw funds from their website account, a system they call GentingPay. The min deposit and withdrawal amounts are a little higher, but still definitely within the realm of "normal".
The only downside to GentingPay is that punters can't use GentingPay if they've ever used a debit card on the website before. Punters need to choose whether they're payments are all going to be online or offline, and then they have to stick to that decision. This might not be the payment method of choice for most users, but we think it's great that they've found a way to combine their online and offline operations, even if it isn't exactly as convenient as we'd like it do be.
Genting have been an enormous name in gambling and betting for years now, and they put all those years of experience to good use when designing Genting Bet. The sports selection is decent and has a decidedly British flavour to it. A broader range would be appreciated, but if we're honest, they aren't missing very much.
The real test of a sportsbook is their event coverage, and the range of betting markets available when building a bet slip. They cover leagues big and small, from all over the world. Want to bet on a Champions League match? Done. How about Copa Paraguay? Yep, sorted. The Indonesia Super League? Genting Bet have you covered.
The options don't stop there. GentingBet offer dozens of betting markets on each match. This isn't a huge deal, in that every decent sportsbook does this, but it's a good sign that Genting take their sportsbook as seriously as they do their casino.
Horse Racing is one of those things that's always hit or miss when it comes to online sportsbooks. For some, it's an afterthought, for others, it's a huge priority. Genting Bet know their target market, though, and Horse Racing gets tons of attention.
Genting Bet offer bets on every race in the UK and Ireland, so racing fans are spoiled for choice all year round, and they have virtual horse race betting for those punters that really can't wait for the next race.
One of our favourite features at Genting Bet is the "Create a Bet" feature. Want to bet on a market that doesn't seem to be available? No problem! Just build your own bet!
The options available obviously differ per sport, but we had a lot of fun with this feature during our testing. For football betting, for example, we were able to create bets for who would score the first goal, whether both teams would score in the first half, which half would have the most goals and more.
This is every punter's dream come true. Your bet slip can be customised to look like whatever you want it to be, and we absolutely love that.
This seems like a basic question, but we did notice that this was almost hidden on the site. GentingBet supports decimal and fractional odds, defaulting to fractional.
If you want to change how the odds appear, you just need to scroll to the bottom of the sports list. Where you see "Odds Type: Fractional", click anywhere in that text box, and it will change the odds format.
It's Saturday afternoon, you're out with your friends to watch the game on a big screen, and you remember that you forgot to place your pre-match bets before you left the house. With some bookies, thus would be game over. No betting for you. With GentingBet, though, not a problem at all. Just whip out your phone, open the proprietary app or your device's web browser, and you're sorted. You can even place in-play bets while out and about.
GentingBet give their users a great mobile experience. Their website is fully mobile optimised, and they have apps for both iOS and Android. Punters can do all the same things on their mobiles and tablets that they can on the desktop site, including building bet slips, in-play betting, using free bets, depositing funds, and more.
For some punters out there, the in-play betting experience is infinitely more important than the pre-match experience. Genting Bet have a live betting section on their site, but it doesn't look like in-play betting is a massive priority here. For starters, the betting markets on live matches are pretty limited. They have more than just outrights, which is good, but while pre-match betting gives punters dozens of options, in-play betting gives players maybe a dozen options.
Another thing that would make in-play betting better at GentingBet would be a better way of visualising what's going on during the match and match statistics. It would be a lot easier to make decisions on the fly if we could see things like match histories, weather conditions, wind direction, and all the other data points that many other sites display for in-play bets.
Unfortunately, no, there's no live-streaming available at GentingBet. This isn't uncommon, because broadcasting rights are a complicated and expensive thing, but fans of in-play betting should be aware that they'll need another screen to watch the match on while they bet.
Genting Bet have a VIP program for their most loyal customers called Genting Black. There are four different VIP levels, and each level has its own unique VIP benefits and features. The levels that bettors can be sorted into are:
Genting Black members can enjoy benefits like a weekly deposit match, bet insurance, exclusive free bets, the ability to earn Genting points and turn them into cash, and other Genting Black exclusive promotions and bonuses. Like any excellent VIP programme, Genting Black is an invite-only club.
Not at all. We actually made sure to confirm this with a customer service agent. Sportsbook bettors can benefit from joining Genting Black too. This is a massive point in Genting Bet's favour, as a lot of casino/bookmaker combo sites reserve the VIP Club for Casino users only.
This is one area where Genting Bet really do excel. At first glance, it looks deceptively simple. Users have two ways to contact customer support: e-mail and live chat. There's no phone number, but that's becoming more and more common anyway, so that isn't really a negative.
During our testing, we contacted the live chat service more than 8 times, some while not even logged in to our account. On average, we were connected to a customer support agent in around 20 seconds. The longest we had to wait was 35-40 seconds, and the fastest connection was n instant connection to a CS agent. This is blindingly fast when compared to most other bookmakers' live chat service out there right now. The customer support agents were all very helpful, and we didn't have any issues with getting the information or instructions we needed.
E-mail response times were speedy too. We sent four different emails as part of our testing problems. Two were answered the same day, and the other two were responded to the following morning, so absolutely no complaints there at all. We like to see a decent FAQ page when there's one available, but Genting Bet don't seem to have gotten round to that yet.
Genting Bet only have eyes for one market right now: The UK. This makes sense, considering the considerable presence they have in the UK with their chain of physical locations.
While punters outside the UK might not be able to sign up at the site right now, that's likely to change in the future. As we said above, though, GentingBet have an MGA Licence, which mean they can operate in lots of different countries if they want to. Sources close to Genting Bet have told us that they're likely headed to Spain in 2020. When asked, their customer support agents denied this, likely because they're instructed to keep things under wraps for now, but we have it on pretty good authority.
The biggest take away from our Genting Bet review testing has to be this: GentingBet really do care about their users. Almost every part of the GentingBet experience is polished and focused on making sure bettors have a great time while keeping them and their data safe. Not to mention their abundance of promotions and offers for existing users. If you're looking for a new UK bookie to call home, trust our GentingBet review and sign up with one of our links above.
