Wales VS. Belgium Prediction – Quarter 2 – 01.07.2016

In UEFA EURO 2016 by on June 28, 2016

The Euro Cup 2016 turned out to be much more exciting than we expected. Wales, although a debutante in the European international football tournament is shining much brighter than some other national squads that are regular in this competition. On the other hand, there’s Belgium. It’s a football team that consists of top-notch players who are playing for world class clubs. Both of these squads already proved their worth. The bottom line is, they’re both in the quarter finals of the Euro Cup 2016. This is the stage the real struggle starts. Now is the time to kick it up a notch and reveal all their cards, if they haven’t done so yet.

Wales was one of the participants that we expected to become a major surprise. And they did surprise us all. They caught off-guard their neighbors England and they crushed the Russians with a 3-0 victory. Furthermore, they showed top notch skills under high pressure against Slovakia. Wales opened the Euro tournament with a 2-1 victory over the Slovakian team. Gareth Bale showed Europe why he is considered to be one of the best football players in the world. He is in the race to become the best goal scorer of the tournament, currently sharing the 1st place with Morata. However, the Spaniards already left France after their defeat against Italy.

It’s a common conception that in football tournaments the best squads on paper rarely perform well due to the lack of team chemistry. On the other hand, teams such as Wales are able to overcome major challenges since they look up to their key players, or in their case players such as Ramsey and Bale.

Probable line-up: Hennessey, Williams, Davies, Chester, Gunter, Taylor, Ramsey, Allen, Ledley, Bale, Voakes.

2 years ago the Belgium national football squad was considered to be the Dark Horse of the World Cup that took place in Brazil. Nevertheless, they failed to meet the expectations of the football community. This time around, Belgium is getting the hang of it, slowly but surely. The icing on the cake was the 4-0 victory over the hard to crack Hungary. We expected Belgium to be the victor, but not with such a devastating victory. So far the Belgians are defeated by the Italians only. This is a promising performance that puts them high against the Welsh, ergo they are the favorite, but only on paper

We saw what team chemistry can do in football games at this level. This game is not an exception. The Belgians will be on the offense, keeping an eye on the lightning fast Gareth Bale. Can they deal with him? Can the Belgians go the distance and move to the semi-finals? We’ll know for sure once the final score is settled.

Probable line-up: Courtois, Vertonghen, Denayer, Alderweireld, Meunier, Nainggolan, Witsel, Hazard, De Bruyne, Carrasco, Lukaku.

Wales VS. Belgium – Odds and Predictions

Bookmakers are backing the Belgians so hard that we can’t take our eyes off of odds for the Welsh team. We already saw that the Welsh can beat top notch squads such as England for instance. For them, this is just another game in the Euro Cup. They already made history.

Note, Belgium is the favorite in this match, but we’re going to take the risky path by backing the Welsh, with odds of 6.00 or 5/1. The odds are just too good to be left out of consideration. The Welsh armada will not stop here. At least, that’s our opinion.

Nevertheless, one of these two will move to the semi-finals, getting one step closer to the much desired title. Heroes will be created and dreams will be crushed.
