Germany VS. France Predictions – Semi Final 2 – 07.07.2016

In UEFA EURO 2016 by on July 4, 2016

The world champion meets the host of the Euro Cup 2016 in the 2nd semi-final match in France. Germany is undefeated so far. Their only pitfall was against Poland, the match ended with a tie. On the other hand, France has had a steady, smooth journey to the semi-finals. Iceland was the unlucky opponent that met France in the quarter finals. The French were merciless, crushing Iceland with a landslide 5-2 victory. This outcome was anticipated, but after what we saw by Iceland, not to this extent.

Germany

Joachim Low has an exceptional squad of disciplined, well-trained, prepared football players. Germany’s outstanding defense was breached only on one occasion in the clash against Italy. Note, this goal was conceded from the 11 meter mark. If there wasn’t a penalty, the German defense would’ve been perfect with no goals scored in their net. Nonetheless, the Italians were a worthy opponent for the German machine that grinds everything in its way.

Mario Gomez and Sami Khedira will miss the semi-final match due to muscle injuries, whereas Hummels is banned due to yellow cards. Even with 3 players kept out of the pitch Germany still has a lot of players that are threats for the French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. We still haven’t seen anything from Thomas Muller. Maybe this time around, he’s going to take the credit for another victory for Germany.

The Germans will go out to give their best and they will for sure go on the offense. However, this is the semi-finals. They must keep an eye on the threats coming from the French side such as Pogba, the untamable Griezman and at times the vicious Giroud. This is going to be a tough match for Neuer.

Probable line-up: Neuer, Kimmich, Boateng, Howedes, Hector, Can, Kroos, Draxler, Ozil, Gotze, Muller.

France

The French team led by Didier Deschamps seems to perform rather well, both against stronger and weaker teams. Furthermore, the French team has the current top goal scorer of the tournament, that’s Antoine Griezman with 4 goals so far. All he needs is a goal or two more to guarantee his place at the top. Iceland suffered a devastating defeat. That was the most exciting match so far with 7 goals in total.

Unlike Joachim Low, Deschamps has all players at his disposal. This doesn’t change much, but it’s worthy of noting. The French haven’t encountered any top-notch teams of the biggest caliber. This will be their most difficult test so far.

France has the support of the home crowd, but this won’t affect the Germans. 2 years ago the Germans crushed Brazil in front of their home crowd. We see no reason why this couldn’t happen to the French. France’s past performance of the Euro Cup can’t be taken in consideration, because they haven’t encountered a serious opponent.

Probable line-up: Lloris, Sagna, Rami, Koscielny, Evra, Matuidi, Kante, Pogba, Griezmann, Giroud, Payet

Germany VS. France – Odds and Predictions

Germany already defeated one great football team. This is their 2nd big test, probably last difficult one, because if they beat France, Portugal or Wales will await them in the finals. And we can all agree that both of them are not a worthy match for the consistent German squad.

Betting on Germany to win is a safe bet to make. As weird as this might sound they still have the upper hand, even with France as the host of the tournament. A bet on Germany to win against France comes with odds at 3.00 or 2/1. Other options you can consider are both teams to score.
